Independent Refuge is unlike most refugee non-profit solutions which tend to focus on either a refugee’s departure from danger, sponsorship in a foreign country, transportation to the US, short term housing, midterm settlement solutions, or employment training. Rather, Independent Refuge attempts uniquely meets the total safe settlement needs of an independent displaced female while also providing for a much-needed community service in the US.

In order to successfully accomplish this goal, we have developed a structured program and refugee requirements. While we realize that not all people in need will meet these requirements, Independent Refuge has decided to very effectively serve the needs of a highly specific group of refugees rather than taking on individuals who will have a more difficult time thriving in our complete resettlement offering.
