Independent Refuge International is a compassionate nonprofit organization committed to supporting and empowering women seeking refuge. We recognize the distinctive challenges faced by displaced women in their pursuit of safety and a new beginning in a foreign land.

Women refugees often find themselves vulnerable to human trafficking and other dangers during their search for refuge. At Independent Refuge, our dedication is unwavering in addressing these issues and offering comprehensive solutions to ensure the safety and well-being of our participants.

Our organization centers its efforts on three key areas: providing logistical support and security during transit; facilitating access to housing, training, employment, security benefits, and legal services; and establishing a work/living/environment that allows refugees to work towards financial independence.

To meet these needs, we’ve developed an innovative approach that integrates housing and career opportunities with the specific care needs of elderly individuals. Through our collaboration with local live-in home-care aide placement agencies, we match women refugees with married or single elderly people in need of non-clinical assistance with daily living needs. The process of pairing refugees with elderly individuals involves thorough interviews and detailed screening tests to
ensure a stable and nurturing environment for both parties. Our aim is to provide refugees not only with a secure place to live but also with companionship, a stable monthly income, and the opportunity to build a rental history.

Recognizing that successful resettlement requires ongoing support, Independent Refuge remains a steadfast resource for our assisted refugees. We continue to help with immigration legal needs, provide housing during days off work, and create a safe haven in case of any conflicts that may arise between the refugee and the individual they care for.

Our organization is led by experienced professionals who are passionate about making a positive impact in the lives of women refugees. Tal Moise, our founder, brings a wealth of entrepreneurial experience, having founded, and successfully exited numerous ventures. Gregory Steele, with his logistics and operations expertise and personal experience in conflict zones, ensures the safe extraction and support of refugees.
